For the creatively-inclined, an opportunity to showcase your talents at a fire protection company might sound underwhelming, but this is a unique opportunity for a creative individual to make a huge mark in an industry that you likely never considered.   Encore is seeking a multi-talented, creative force, who is adept at generating compelling content across diverse platforms. This is not a graphic design position. This is not a copywriter’s position. And this is not a social media or content manager position. It is all those things rolled into one, and to excel in this position you must be equally skilled in all three.   The Creative Content and Design Manager will be joining the Culture and Engagement division of our Talent, Culture, and People (TCP) Team. The right person will quickly become the cornerstone of our strategy: assisting with everything from internal communications and social media content to marketing materials and presentation decks. Lots of presentation decks!   Your Path to Success - In your first 90-days: You will focus on listening, learning, and absorbing our culture. We have a pretty strong “vibe” that we are looking to further develop and formalize (not abandon and recreate.) You will have a ton of creative freedom but understanding our why will be critical for producing content that is on brand and resonates within our team and with our customers.  - Post-90 Days: Once you really understand what we are all about, you will transition to content development: transforming ideas and themes into emails, newsletters, video concepts, and/or presentations tailored for a wide range of audiences, from field technicians to executive leaders. - Long-Term Plan: As you evolve, we see you not just executing but assuming responsibility for coming up with the original themes and ideas that guide our engagement strategy. Key Responsibilities: - First things first – we need brand standards. We have developed a consistent look and feel over the years, but with our expansion we need to make replication of that look easy for offices far and wide. - Design and maintain a versatile, template-based presentation deck that makes it easy for our teammates to convert their own ideas into eye-catching presentations whenever needed. - Regularly produce original content for a variety of forums, including quarterly operations meetings, virtual and/or in person leadership discussions, blog posts, internal newsletters, maybe even a podcast! - Engage in continuous learning about industry trends, our company's role within the space, and strategies for maintaining our competitive edge. What Will Make You Stand Out? Your portfolio will tell us almost everything we need to know but be prepared to talk to us about: - How well you accept feedback. The design process is iterative and sometimes your best ideas won’t “land.” When that happens how will you keep yourself motivated? - Your prior experience in content creation, copywriting, and design - Examples of your writing. It can be business related, or not. We just want to get a feel for your communication style. - Your ability to develop content themes and design creative delivery methods. - The content management systems, social media platforms, and presentation software you are experienced in. - You might have worked in a fast-paced position before, but I assure you this is faster. How do you stay organized and successfully manage multiple priorities at once - If you don’t have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field that’s OK but you’ll need to convince us that you’ve got comparable experience to make you succeed. Benefits: As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Experience selling a service (as opposed to a tangible product) is a plus. - We are prepared to teach you about alarm and sprinkler systems but you must be ready to commit to learning. This can be a hard pill to swallow for the naturally competitive person who is driven to want to produce out of the gates, we know that, and so we want to be upfront about it. - You must be good on the computer. To us, "good" means that are proficient with the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and excel) without question. In addition, we use Hubspot, Zendesk, Slack, and an industry specific program called ServiceTrade. Prior working experience with these programs is not a requirement, but you must be prepared to adopt and self-teach on each of these platforms. - You must be a people person! You have to build great relationships with your customers and be their advocate as well as a voice of reason.   Benefits As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. To the outside world we refer to this position as the Account Executive but internally, we've been struggling to get away from the slightly more descriptive title of SOW. SOW refers to share of wallet and that is exactly what this position is all about. Your primary focus and goal is to develop and build upon our existing customer accounts to make those relationships more "sticky" by adding additional services, executing on contract renewals, and asking for additional locations and/or referrals.   As part of Encore's mission to be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen, we have recently joined forces with Fire Service Group, based out of Palmer, Massachusetts. This partnership not only allows us to expand our footprint and find top talent in the MA area, it also allows us to work with industry leaders who strive for same level of excellence as we do.   The Account Executive is really a hybrid between an Inbound Marketer, an Outside Sales Consultant, and a Relationship Building Machine. It's true, people buy from who they like, so if you have an inherent love of and desire to serve clients, this could be the opportunity for you. It is also imperative that you not be offended by the SOW reference because despite best intentions, we really can't get away from the acronym.   Our Account Executives are responsible for augmenting our External Sales efforts by taking ownership of several critical functions including but not limited to: sourcing bid opportunities (public and private), completion of proposals, identifying cross-sale opportunities within our existing customer base of 4,000+, and facilitating the renewal of existing customer contracts.     Requirements: We fully believe in the concept of hiring for attitude and training for skill, especially when it comes to our sales positions, and that is because the most successful members of our sales team share more than a few commonalities. The A-Players on our team exhibit the following characteristics: - A natural inclination towards putting customers first - Willingness to try learn, new things, admit mistakes, adapt and change - Impenetrable focus - Takes pride in doing the right thing - Embraces a team-first attitude - Meets obstacles head-on when it comes to achieving set goals or objectives - Commits to being truthful, direct, and honest in every interaction In addition to these intangibles there are a few hard skills that will make one candidate stand out over another: - Minimum 3-years professional work experience - Excellent communication skills both verbal and written - Above average proficiency with technology - Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at a minimum. HubSpot CRM a bonus and the ability to self-teach our industry specific service platform, Service Trade   Benefits: As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Here are just a few a few perks that a successful individual in this role can expect: - Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role - Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder) - We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren't afraid to ask), you'll be all set! - Speaking of attire, we offer all employees Encore gear when they join the team - Freedom to express ideas - a culture of willingness to test, try, modify, adopt, enhance, improve and CHANGE as needed - Access to leading edge web-based productivity tools - Participation in Fidelity 401(K) that includes employer match - Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits through Blue Cross - Company-paid life insurance policy of $50,000 Encore Fire Protection is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
